Urbaser joins the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza and TBA21 to present Liquid Intelligence, a group exhibition on the critical situation of life in the ocean that invites us to reflect on how we humans relate to it.
Urbaser has recently started a transformation process whose first milestone is the renewal of its brand, thus boosting its growth through an integral model of circular solutions, and the formation of a new discourse based on its mission (Making Circularity Real), vision, values and purpose. In this context, Urbaser begins to collaborate with the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum by supporting the TBA21 collection. A strategic and natural alliance of two organizations that promote awareness and care for the environment, and that represents an important step in the promotion of a more sustainable and culturally enriching world.
Fernando Abril-Martorell, CEO of Urbaser, participated in the inauguration of the exhibition noting: “With this exhibition we discover that art and sustainability can go hand in hand,” he acknowledged. This collaboration is the first time that Urbaser is committed to linking up with the art sector. “We could not have chosen a better occasion,” said Abril-Martorell in relation to Liquid Intelligence.
This exhibition, curated by Chus Martínez together with Soledad Gutiérrez and María Montero Sierra, gathers the works of eight international artists. The works belonging to the TBA21 Collection are joined by two new productions of the Foundation and three installations created expressly for the occasion.
The main objective of Liquid Intelligence is to reinterpret the concept of the ocean and to open the imagination and the capacity to admire the complexity of its ecosystems. In the words of Chus Martínez, “this exhibition contributes to create a field of connectivity between systems. Imagining intelligence is difficult, but it is a wonderful exercise that invites us to understand a world that wants and wishes to be in permanent contact with itself, and of which we are all a part”.
Liquid Intelligence belongs to a series of projects of the Foundation that will take place at the Thyssen Museum with the aim of learning about and discussing the different topics related to the knowledge and care of the ocean that the exhibition proposes. The exhibition opens its doors to the public on October 10 and can be visited until January 28, 2024.
